Photo caption: The student council at McKenna Elementary School in the Massapequa School District collected baby clothes and pajamas for children to support Jake’s Jammies. It is an initiative of the Massapequa Park-based Ashley Wade Foundation, started and run by a former McKenna student. In just two days, the student council collected enough clothes to fill 10 boxes. Donations will benefit children and infants in hospitals. Student council advisers Erin Rohan, left, and Mary Ellen Scheffler were joined by their members on McKenna’s pajama day, which was held on March 27 to celebrate the successful drive.
